Comentario personal:

La canción, llamada 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' es una canción que habla sobre un mundo imaginario el cual se sitúa 'sobre el arco iris'. Con esto lo que hace referencia es a el lugar perfecto donde no existen los problemas, como dice en la frase: 'Where troubles melts like lemon drops', dónde todas nuestras preocupaciones se derriten 'como gotas de limón', dejando atrás todos todo lo ácido de nuestra vida y simplemente disfrutando de nuestros sueños, los cuales se hacen realidad.

Por otro lado también hace referencia a la sociedad en la que vivimos, una sociedad en la que nos vemos obligados a hacer lo que nos dicen y no tenemos a soñar, por ello las canción nos incita a soñar con nuestro mundo imaginario en algún lugar sobre el arco iris, donde lo que nos atrevemos a soñar en nuestra vida se vuelve realidad.

Pero este mundo no es un mundo en el que vivamos solos, la canción comienza a hablar de un lugar en el que convivimos todos juntos pero en el cual todos nos amamos:

  'I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do, They're really saying i... I love you.'  Los amigos se ven por la calle y se dan la mano, se preguntan uno al otro ¿Qué tal?, pero en realidad se están diciendo 'Te amo'.

Finalmente la letra justo al final dice: 'Oh why, oh why can't I?'. La canción se acaba y tenemos que volver a la realidad en la que vivimos, asumir nuestros problemas y aceptar que no siempre nos van a decir que nos aman, pero siempre tenemos nuestro mundo imaginario en el que todo lo que nos imaginemos se volverá realidad.

  «Over the Rainbow se ha convertido en parte de mi vida. Simboliza tan bien los deseos y sueños de la gente que estoy segura de que ése es el motivo por el que la gente llora cuando la oye. La he cantado cientos de veces y sigue siendo la canción que llevo más cerca del corazón.»
